Austria
During a delay caused by one team we were scheduled to play, we took advantage of the unexpected free time and went on a day trip to Graz, Austria. The city offered a charming glimpse of Austrian culture and architecture, making the detour worthwhile.
Two days later, on our way to Prague, Czechia, we stopped briefly in Vienna. Although the city’s rich history and stunning sights were evident even in the short time we had, I was disappointed that we couldn’t spend more time exploring Vienna’s renowned landmarks and vibrant atmosphere.
The limited visit left me wanting to return and experience all that the city has to offer in greater depth.

The Schloßberg, a tree-clad hill and site of a fortress, in the center of the city of Graz, Austria. The fortress, originally constructed in the 10th century, was never defeated. However, it was largely demolished by Napoleon under the Treaty of Schönbrunn in 1809. The clock tower and the bell tower of the fortress were saved only after the people of Graz paid a large ransom to Napoleon
